The Center of Microscopy and Molecular Imaging (CMMI) is a multidisciplinary preclinical imaging facility of Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Université de Mons (UMONS). The CMMI offers expertise in image acquisition and analysis to academic and industrial partners. This expertise covers the fields of small animal in vivo imaging (PET, SPECT, CT, MRI), digital pathology (whole slide imaging, immunohistochemistry), and microscopy (electron, fluorescent, holographic). For more information about the CMMI: https://www.cmmi.be/.
As a Research Engineer, you will provide support for the analysis of preclinical medical imaging data (PET, SPECT, μCT) for our academic and industrial partners. You will continuously develop, improve, maintain, and document original image processing tools to address the various and exciting challenges proposed by our partners. You will discuss with the partners to identify their needs and propose the most adequate solution. You will advise and collaborate with the team to improve the image acquisition process. You will take part in the analysis of the results and the writing of scientific reports. This position will also give you the opportunity to learn and experiment novel image processing techniques and algorithms, including deep learning tools.
Recent graduates with no professional experience but eagerness to learn are particularly encouraged to apply.
The CMMI offers a dynamic and multidisciplinary work environment with stimulating scientific challenges. As an academic facility, a strong emphasis is placed on the freedom to innovate and education. We offer an attractive compensation with extra-legal benefits and access to cutting-edge imaging and computing equipment.
