Mission Description

  • Strategy & Growth: Development of strategic plan and execution of strategic and growth initiatives
  • P&L Management: Ensuring the planning and delivery of annual sales, revenue, and EBITDA targets/budget for assigned business 
  • Customer Relationship Management for key customers
  • Partner with BD and Marketing to define customer/product mix, marketing plans, and sales/growth targets to achieve business growth objectives and ensure execution of strategic initiatives
  • Partner with Corporate Development to identify, evaluate, and integrate M&A opportunities aligned with strategic plan
  • Leadership of Commercial Operations team overseeing negotiation and closure of long-term customer contracts.
  • Works closely with site leadership (dotted-line management of GMs) within their business segment to ensure alignment with business goals and excellent execution of customer programs
  • Act as a key member of the Cell & Gene Therapy leadership team

Candidate profile

  • This role will ideally be close to one of the following sites:  Dusseldorf Germany, Oxford UK, Gosselies Belgium, Madison Wisconsin, Baltimore Maryland, Princeton New Jersey (relocation support provided)
  • PhD degree or advanced degree in a Life Sciences discipline 
  • Technical and Market knowledge and experience in Cell Therapy to focus on the new developments of all of Catalent’s modalities
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and history of execution
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in a commercial leadership role and/or Site/Operational leadership roles
  • Previous CDMO experience and/or emerging biotech and/or start-up strongly preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% globally
  • Entrepreneurial background working with technology acquisitions and licensing
  • Able to work in a fast-paced matrix environment
  • Outstanding ability to build key customer relationships with the ability to educate and demonstrate technical value propositions in order to promote the Catalent difference
  • High aptitude to learn technical and scientific information, Detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English mandatory).
  • Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, and as a team member
  • Ability to recognize the needs of the customer and collaborate with the clinical areas to develop proposals that exceed customer expectations
  • Must be reliable, highly-motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, and customer-focused
