InhaTarget Therapeutics is a spin-off company of the ULB (“Université libre de Bruxelles”) specialized in the development of innovative and targeted dry powders for inhalation (DPI) that aims to improve treatment of severe and/or chronic respiratory diseases, with a focus on Lung Cancer. Based on more than 10 years of dedicated applied research and a strong IP portfolio, InhaTarget Therapeutics is currently active in the preclinical and clinical development of innovative treatments of lung cancer by inhalation, based on dry powder formulations of conventional chemotherapy compounds. DPI chemotherapy is a breakthrough therapeutic approach to be used in combination with current standards of care (such as immunotherapy) and is very promising in improving lung cancer patient care.

Mission Description

As Analytical Laboratory Specialist, you will be in charge of the manufacturing of drug formulations for
inhalation at lab-scale (spray-drying, freeze-drying, micronization, high speed and pressure
homogenizing) and their characterization involving a variety of analytical testing, including HPLC/UPLC
coupled to UV or mass spectrometry (LC-MS), atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), thermal analysis
(thermogravimetric analysis - TGA, differential scanning calorimetry - DSC), particle size analysis
(particle size distribution by laser diffraction) and inhalation-related analyses (aerodynamic particle
size distribution through cascade impactors, delivered dose uniformity). These activities will be
performed under the direct supervision and support of our Analytical Manager and specific training
sessions shall be provided, as required, to familiarize yourself with these methods and equipment.
You will be involved in the whole analytical process, ranging from the development and qualification
of analytical methods, to analyzing samples from different studies (preparations, executing the
method, recording data, reporting).
You will maintain laboratory equipment and inventory for laboratory supplies. You will also contribute
to the writing of protocols (SOP) and reports and present data in team meetings.

Candidate profile

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in bio-engineering, biology, pharmacy, industrial chemistry or
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar or relevant role.
- Eager to learn and leverage know-how to participate in the development of analytical methods
and solutions.
- Capacity to work autonomously.
- Good team spirit.
- Meticulous.
- Enthusiastic and agile to work on a variety of projects in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to write in-depth experimental reports and perform data analysis.
