Senior Scientist Cell-Based Process Technologies (M/F)
January 7th 2021
At Univercells Vaccines, we believe in the power of human ingenuity to design high-performance and low-footprint manufacturing solutions for improving global access to life-saving medicines at an affordable cost. Our innovation department continually monitors the state-of-the-art in bioprocessing platforms and contributes to the advancement of engineering solutions that help us to achieve our objectives. As Senior Scientist Cell-Based Process Technologies, you will be responsible for all operations within the Innovation department that focus on cell culture-based process technology platforms, covering all possible expression systems (both microbial e.g. bacterial, yeast and non-microbial e.g. insect cells, mammalian cells). The remit of the Cell-Based Process Technologies Group extends from screening and selection of gene and virus vector technologies and expression systems to all upstream and downstream processing technologies relating to cell-based production platforms.
Mission Description
Main tasks include:
- Remain up to date on the state-of-the-art in bioprocessing technologies of relevance for Univercells, through appropriate channels;
- Analyze process innovation challenges and propose achievable engineering solutions meeting user requirements, as defined;
- Plan and execute process innovation projects, from concept to functional process prototype, with potential further scaling to industrial-size solutions;
- Prepare and transfer all documentation, data and knowledge to (internal or external) technology recipients;
- Identify IP opportunities and prepare associated documentation, as appropriate;
- Assist in due diligence of external process technology providers, as required;
- Provide technical assistance in support of the commercialization of new technology concepts, when requested;
- Manage department resources, including laboratories and equipment, staff, budget, reagents and consumables etc.
