Business Developer (Genomics & Transcriptomics)(M/F)

December 17th 2020 is an entity of the Institute of Pathology and Genetics (IPG), a Belgian human diagnostic company offering bioanalytical testing in Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics and Immuno-histochemistry for the Pharma and Biotech Industry.

Mission Description

The Business Developer will help to grow and to generate revenue and businesses nationally and internationally. The business developer will increase and diversify the portfolio of clients. The Business Developer will propose to prospects and clients services in Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics and Immuno-histochemistry with a specific focus on Genomics & Transcriptomics services.

Main tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Identify prospects and new customers and convert them into accounts
  • Generate new business through the identification of new leads and the development of professional business relationship with potential clients and keep them informed of our most current service offerings and capabilities ;
  • Maintain existing client accounts and continuously improve the relationship
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver to clients quote, proposals and contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders (Head of, Project Managers, Scientific Experts and Department of Finance) ;
  • During the project, work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders on the follow-up of the project and the collection of feedback of clients;
  • Maintain and improve pricing models in collaboration with the Head of and the Department of Finance;
  • Contribute to development strategy by conducting continuous market analysis (demands and competitors’ knowledge)
  • Maintain the CRM up-to-date
  • Meet the sales targets
  • Develop monthly sales reports
  • Schedule sales appointments with prospects and clients on a regular basis
  • Participate to national and international conferences

Candidate profile

Hard Skills/Experience

  • Master or PhD in Science and/or Business;
  • Relevant Pharrma/Biotech industry experience (> 5 years)
  • Knowledge of various molecular biology analytical methods (low and high throughput sequencing)
  • Proven track record of success in business development for laboratory services, preferably Next Generation Sequencing/ Genomics & Transcriptomics
  • Knowledge in Cytogenetics and Immunohistochemistry is a plus (if not, training feasible)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of CRM best practices
